Data Services

Leading Australia to a more digitally connected future.

Powering your business with scalable fibre in the sky network

Lumea’s four data services; Wavelength, Carrier Ethernet, Spectrum and Business Internet is primarily run over our independent Fibre in the Sky network. Our aerial fibre is carried directly across high-voltage transmission towers, rather than buried in ground-level ducts like traditional telecommunications networks.

That distinction matters in Australia, where distance and extreme weather, including bushfires and, floods, can put ground-level fibre at risk. Lumea's aerial network is built to keep operating through those conditions.

Our telecommunications network services wholesale carriers, government, enterprise and renewable energy customers across NSW and the ACT, with partner aerial fibre networks extending reach into VIC and QLD. Our services scale from 2Mbps to 400Gbps+ to support your network needs as your business grows.

As Australia's digital demands accelerate, Lumea's role is to make sure the infrastructure keeps pace.

Lumea is also an approved provider of Data and Internet services on the NSW Government Telecommunications Purchasing Arrangement (TPA) and Local Government Panels (LGP).

Features and benefits of Lumea’s network

Critical infrastructure built to the highest standards and endorsed by the Critical Infrastructure Centre (CIC). Fibre optics sealed inside multiple layers of metal alloy protection, secured 30–65m in the air at physically secure sites.

24/7 Support

Monitoring and fault response from an experienced, Australian-based team who know the network inside out.

Established footprint

An existing fibre network of 7,500km, across 132 comms towers to enable faster customer connect times and better cost outcomes.

Asset surveillance

Assets that are regularly inspected via drone and helicopter for bushfire prevention, vegetation management and structural integrity.

A complete power and connectivity solution

Connecting energy and data services to customers sites including generators, solar farms, data centres, and other large scale industrial applications.

FAQs

How does Lumea's data services scale with my business?

Speeds across Lumea's four data services range from 2Mbps up to 400Gbps+, so you can start small and increase capacity as your business grows; without switching providers or rebuilding your network. Our infrastructure is scaling too: alongside our existing 7,500km+ Fibre in the Sky network, a further 2,000km of fibre is planned by 2031, extending capacity and coverage as demand grows.

Lumea provides four core data services - Wavelength, Carrier Ethernet, Spectrum and Business Internet - delivered over an independent Fibre in the Sky (OPGW) network across NSW, ACT, VIC and QLD.

Lumea's data network spans all major data centres across NSW, QLD, ACT and VIC, with 200+ fibre landing points including public data centres and nbn POIs.

Yes. Lumea is an approved provider of Data and Internet services on the NSW Government Telecommunications Purchasing Arrangement (TPA) and Local Government Panels (LGP).

Speeds vary by service: Carrier Ethernet ranges from 2Mbps to 4Gbps, Business Internet from 2Mbps to 10Gbps, Wavelength up to 800Gbps*, and Spectrum beyond 400Gbps (equipment dependent).

Yes. Lumea's Network Operations Centre (NOC) provides 24/7 monitoring of the network to help ensure the performance, availability and security of customer services.

The NOC continuously monitors the network for faults, outages and performance issues, enabling rapid detection, investigation and response when incidents occur. If an issue is identified, the NOC coordinates troubleshooting and restoration activities to minimise customer impact and keep services running reliably.
